Caution: DO NOT WAX YOUR CAR WITH YOUR BARE HANDS IF YOU HAVE A SKIN CONDITION, OPEN WOUNDS, OR ARE PRONE TO SKIN ISSUES.
I occasionally wax my clients cars with bare hands if 3 specific factors are present:
1) The paint is room temperature, cool, or cold.
2) The vehicle is either really valuable, extremely rare, or about to be auctioned, displayed, photographed, etc…(aka: I dont have any room to make a mistake and no time to repair.)
3) Time is not an issue. (It can take an extra 20-40 minutes. Its not worth doing it if you have to rush)
If these factors are not met, then use a FOAM applicator pad. I dont like to use microfiber applicator pads because microfiber is designed to pick up….not put down. Microfiber may feel soft, but the quills have millions of hooks to grab and hold. Foam, on the other hand, is soft but doesn’t adsorb. Perfect for laying down products. I use a yellow, round applicator pad for 85 to 90% of my waxing sessions.
